Close-Out report as well as lessons learned being finalized. Draft has been completed and will be reviewed by the FIP Team Oct. 29 and then distributed to appropriate MC IT Groups for consensus.

Temporary Help Desk Area Back fill

Requisition has been sent to Network Engineering for submission. Network Engineering has decided on additional modifications, per N/E Director and NOC Manager. Revised design is now being developed and will be completed within the next week and sent back to N/E for approval.

Takoma Park Data Center (IT Operations Center)

Contract has been closed out and the Project Close-Out Report is in development. IT Operations Center is now in operational status.

Coordination between construction contractor and various college contractors ongoing. Issues being addressed by both IT and Central Facilities with a resolution planned for mid-august.

Project Update

Help Desk Relocation - The IT Help Desk has been moved from it's temporary position within the Cafritz IT Area into it's permanent location within the Takoma Park Data Center. Successful operation has continued for the last 25 days and no issues have been reported.Temporary Help

Desk Area Backfill - Design modifications to take advantage of excess furniture are ongoing. Final design and quote expected by Mid-July and requisition to be submitted to procurement shortly thereafter.

Takoma Park Data Center - Completion of activities related to the CRAC units is ongoing. Arica/JMT/Central Facilities are working to resolve these issues by the end of July. FIP will be monitoring these activities as they progress.

Project Update

Help Desk relocation to it's permanent location will begin on June 4th and be complete by COB June 5th.

Help Desk Backfill design has been returned to the vendor for modification. Upon correction the req will be placed with N/E for processing.

Network Engineering relocations to the Cafritz building from the Rockville data center and OITB will begin mid July and continure until migration of the Rockville Data Center applications has completed in winter 2009.

Project Update

Commissioning issues are wrapping up. Some tweaking of the CRAC units is being completed by the vendor.

Help Desk Relocation is set to begin June 1st and complete by June 5th. This move will be from the temporary location to it's permanent location within the IT Ops Center.

Help Desk Backfill design is still in development with the furniture vendor. The first design was sent back for revision.

Project Update

Use & Occupoancy permit has been recieved by Central Facilities. Commissioning activities are ongoing and should be complete by the middle of April. Installation of A/V systems has been substantially completed and cabling of the entire area is ongoing until mid-April.

Today’s meeting signified “Substantial Competition” of the ITOC (Information Technology Operations Center) construction. It is expected that Montgomery College will receive full occupancy from the county inspector by the end of the week. We will keep you posted. IT equipment installs have begun.

The Facilities support groups still have some issues regarding building (ITOC area HVAC equipment) monitoring and control systems. They are working with vendors to resolve and finalize these issues. None of them are show stoppers, nor should they impact IT installs of IT equipment.

Facilities support staff training on these new systems will continue for several weeks.

As built drawings are being completed and will be disseminated by the facilities group to their staff and IT in a few weeks.

Handoff from the construction contractor to Montgomery College Facilities and IT staff will be completed in the next few weeks.

February 18, 2009

Substantial completion of the area has been completed. Central Facilities PM is now performing a walkthrough with the contractor to identify any deficiencies and have them corrected. Racks have been installed and coordination with Network Engineering to begin installing infrastructure has begun.

The Operations Center is in the final phases of HVAC systems functional testing and commissioning. Equipment racks are installed. The rack's power monitoring system is being installed and tested within the next couple of weeks. We are working toward having the center operational by mid to late February.
